Frances Duncan is the founder of the Jane Austen Society of New Zealand and an independently published author. Her second novella Beautiful Abomination was shortlisted for best novella in the 2018 Sir Julius Vogel awards.

She lives in Wellington and is of Ngati Porou and Te Whanau ā Apanui descent. In primary school the teachers used to take her books off her and tell her to go play. It seemed a natural progression to go from reading too much to writing.

You can book time for a one-on-one online book discussion or writing session.

Current aesthetic: leather pants in the winter, maxi dresses and bare feet in the summer.
